Hey KPU Students! We at the KPU Marketing Association know that everyone is always looking for easy electives to take to boost their GPA or simply just have a chill semester. We got you! Below are 6 easy electives to take at KPU that will help you boost your GPA.
1. EDUC 1100
Educational Studies 1100 is seen as one of the easiest electives that one could take at KPU. The course name, Intro to Higher Education, is a class where students learn about the purpose of post-secondary education. While this may be a boring class for someone in a business major, it is nearly a guaranteed GPA booster for anyone putting in minimal effort.
2. IDEA 1100
Interdisciplinary Expressive Arts 1100 is a course where you will learn various skills, practices, and disciplines to further your personal and professional development. The work that this course entails is an individual project, group work, and several individual assignments. This course is among one of the easier GPA booster courses as the amount of work compared to most courses is minimal.
3. FREN 1100
French 1100 is called French for Beginners 1. This is an aptly-named class as you do not need to know anything about this language to get a good mark in the class. You will develop basic french oral, listening, reading, and writing skills. This course is not available to those who have done French in high school or have previous experience in French, proving how simple this course really is for anyone who does not speak french. 4. CRIM 1100
Criminology 1100 is a course that may seem daunting for those that are not in criminology, but this course simply covers the basics. You will learn the core concepts in criminology, basic data sources, and Canadian research findings. This course does not deal with any topics in-depth and requires minimal work as compared to most other courses, hence why this is considered one of the easier GPA boosters at KPU.
5. CBSY 1105
Do you know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint? If you said yes then Computer Business Systems 1105 is probably going to be the easiest course that you will ever take at KPU. In this course you will learn the fundamentals of how to use these programs and… that’s it. Be sure to take this course for that easy GPA Booster!
6. EDUC 4100
Many bachelors degree programs require students to take an upper level elective to complete their degrees. Education 4100 is an easy GPA booster elective that meets that criteria, as it does not require any prerequisites. In this course, you learn how to write a resume, set up a Linkedin account, and have assignments related to direct you in what you want to do post grad. There are 5 assignments that you have to do all semester, thus making this an easy A for anyone willing to put minimal effort into this course. In addition, this course also helps prepare you for postgrad, which can be extremely valuable if you are not sure what you would like to do in the future.
